Dear Prayer Partners of Arm of Hope,

As we look for forward to the second half of 2022, there are so many things for which to be grateful to God, including upcoming graduations, the return to our normal Bible Club meetings with COVID restrictions lifted, finishing the top floor of our office complex for additional Bible Club space, and a new director’s office on the top floor.

I see God changing lives, and I see young men and women growing in their walk with God as well as in their studies. I see a future where the cycle of poverty is broken with young men and women becoming responsible adults.
Our new Bible Club meeting place on the roof of our Arm of Hope building
A couple of months ago, you saw a newsletter update on the building project which made the roof of our office complex usable space for our ministry. In the past several weeks, all of the electric work, plastering, and painting has been completed. We hope to officially open for Bible Club meetings in our new space this Sunday, as we pray and dedicate the new space to the Lord. The top floor can hold about 120 plastic chairs, and this space will give us extra room to house more children, as we have a lot of new children coming to our meetings.

The top floor space also holds a director’s office for one-on-one counseling without interruption. There is space to disciple and mentor many young children. We really appreciate all those who gave to our Development Fund to help us expand this beautiful, new meeting place.

We here in Ghana were praying for a successful 5K, and we are so grateful the Lord gave good weather and provided funds for camp in yet another amazing way. Camp is an opportunity that no one wants to miss for anything. Just yesterday evening as I walked through the community, I met a group of Arm of Hope beneficiaries playing soccer. One of the boys named Jonathan Abraham shouted my name, and as he ran to me with much excitement, he asked me if camp is happening this year. My response was received with loud cheers and applause. I did nothing for such an applause, but the applause was for YOU who ran and gave generously to this year’s 5K. You deserve applause for bringing smiles and excitement to these young boys because they know they can go to camp this year.

Our programs are drawing more children to the Lord including a lot of new children who are attending Bible Club meetings every Sunday. There are many children attending Bible Club regularly and waiting for sponsorship. With over 550 children already in school through Arm of Hope, we pray for more sponsors to provide for all the children who are waiting.

Sheilla, our new Arm of Hope accountant in Ghana
Arm of Hope in Ghana has a new accountant who has started work this month. Sheilla joined our staff in training from our ministry policy handbook yesterday led by our board secretary. Sheilla now replaces our board secretary who volunteered his time all these years in helping with accounts.

I have a special prayer request for one of our students. She has frequent seizures, and it is frustrating and has kept her from her studies. She wanted to give up on her education, but with much encouragement, she is back to school. Pray for God’s healing for this student.

We want to offer our deepest gratitude to our faithful supporters for blessing our Arm of Hope children through letters and Christmas gifts, which arrived after Easter. These gifts help to create a better life for their families both today and in the future.

The Darko family is doing well, and we are always grateful for your prayer support and continued generosity. You keep us on the field, and words cannot express what your love and care means to us.

Thank you again for continuing to stand with us in this great cause! Everything that we are doing to bless the vulnerable people and touch the lives of families, orphans, and others in Ghana is only possible because of incredible people like you!

May God richly bless you!

With much love,
Philip Darko
