Dear Partners and Friends of Arm of Hope,
I am sitting here with a thankful heart for all the ways God has provided for Arm of Hope this year and then I smile thinking of YOU! God is using YOU to change lives in Ghana. Through education and His love, children are growing in their faith and receiving the tools they need to disciple others. Their futures will be so different because of God working through YOU! Just when I start to wonder how funds will be met for a deadline or how school fees will be paid, a check comes in the mail or I see a gift online, and once again, God uses YOU to make a difference!
Here are some exciting things God is doing through Arm of Hope right now!
Our Ghana team for 2021 is formed and has been fundraising and meeting for the past few months. God has brought together a committed team of people willing to walk forward together, even though we know this year will likely hold just as many challenges as the last. But what is serving Jesus if risks aren’t taken and adventures aren’t pursued? We will continue forward to our 8th year of camp one step at a time, unless God has a reason to close the door. Please pray for unity for our team, for wisdom as we plan our travels, and for funds to provide a Jesus-filled camp for over 500 Arm of Hope campers.

Our Arm of Hope picnic is coming up soon! It will again take place in the parking lot at Hope Community Church, 1806 Harrisburg Avenue, Mount Joy, on Saturday, October 2. A chicken barbecue dinner will be served to your car between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. During the dinner hours, there will be stations for the whole family to enjoy, giving you a little taste of camp in Ghana. At 7:00 p.m. Philip Darko will be sharing an update on the awesome things God is doing in Ghana this year. As you leave, you will have an opportunity to generously support Arm of Hope. Feel free to bring chairs and friends to enjoy this picnic together. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and God will use it to provide for 2022! Please bring friends, so we can spread the news and invite more people to partner with us! Stay tuned for free tickets coming soon!
As we get ready to enter another new school year in Ghana, my heart has been burdened for 39 students who have been waiting for sponsorship for over a year. As I look at the precious faces on this stack of pictures, I feel prompted to find sponsors for all 39 of these students before the new school year begins. So far, God has miraculously provided sponsorship for 15 students! There are still 24 students waiting, so if God has blessed you this year, and you would like to add one more Arm of Hope kid to your family, please contact me, and I’d be happy to help you get started (cheryl@armofhopeinghana.org).
