We are back! Thank you to all of you who prayed faithfully for our team during our preparations, our travels, and our time at camp. God truly answered, so I thought I’d update the prayer countdown for you to see just how He worked!
10…Thank you for praying for our team! God brought together the perfect team for this year. Our team worked together selflessly, sharing their gifts tirelessly, and building relationships extravagantly. What a joy it was to work together!
9…Our teachers this year did an absolutely amazing job! Brother Philip and Mary Beth worked together as a team to present the lessons each day, and it was evident that the children grew and learned from their hands-on, passionate teaching. The highlight of the morning teaching was our team teachers mentoring older teens to teach alongside of them. Wow! It’s amazing to see what God is doing in these young lives!
8…God answered our prayers for our “stuff”. Yes, God cares about luggage! All of it arrived on time and in perfect condition. We had everything we needed for our two weeks of camp.
7. Thank you for your continued prayers for Philip and Hannah and their family. Brother Philip, as always, was our amazing commander in chief, working tirelessly to lead us and the campers through two weeks for fun and learning. Sister Hannah was working overtime sewing uniforms for school (115 total), but still took time to come to camp for week two and help with the cooking for the campers. She is such a tireless servant.
6…We had close to 450 campers at our 2 week camp. It is a joy to see them learn and grow each year. We can look back and remember when they were joining in the first week of camp with the little kids just 5 years ago, and some of those same students are now leading their own groups of campers! God is working in their lives through discipleship and they are in turn becoming disciple-makers themselves!
5…It was a joy to work together with our Ghanaian ministry partners again this year. We learn so much from each of them about what it looks like to joyfully serve Christ. They worked hand in hand with us to make the camp year extremely successful. It was said again this year that it was our best year ever. That has been said every year! I have hopes that it will continue!
4…Thank you for praying for the health of our team. Other than a slight fever and a few minor stomach issues, everyone remained well! Thank you especially for praying for Denise. She had her best year ever physically with no major health issues. We are so grateful!
3…Thanks for praying for our team and our families and our homes. We returned to the people we love with joy. While we all had to hit the ground running with home and work responsibilities, God is giving us the strength to catch up.
2…Our teen helpers this year at camp were magnificent. As I walked around and observed the groups at camp, I heard the teen leaders encouraging the children. I saw them team building and making up special team chants and handshakes. I saw them high-five the kids. I saw them being great sports during the game time and teaching sportsmanship to their children. I saw them praying with the children and helping them hide God’s Word in their hearts.
1…Thank you for praying for Marigold. It was a joy to serve at camp with her. She has a kind, generous heart. She also loves the children very much, and I heard her passion for meeting needs in their young lives as well as her passion to show them who Jesus is. Marigold has blossomed into a true leader this year as Dee mentored her to teach the large group, and she stood up in front of over 200 people and did a stellar job of sharing God’s Word. Marigold is a gift to Arm of Hope!
