I have seen what it means to truly have the joy of the Lord.
This week at camp we are teaching the kids about the fruits of the Spirit. We have been talking to them about what each of the fruits means, and yesterday as I sat with my group, I explained what it meant to have the joy of the Lord. However, I thought about it later and realized that they already know what true joy is like. In fact, they are a great example of what it means to be joyful in the Lord, through all circumstances. Despite the difficult lives that they lead, they are full of laughter and courage.
Each day we sing songs with the children, and their singing fills the whole room. They dance and shout praises with everything they have, and in those moments I can not only see their joy, I experience what it feels like to be truly joyful. They completely amaze me, and I feel like they have already taught me more then I could ever teach them.
