Six!
Today, please pray for our missionary partner and leader of Arm of Hope, Philip Darko. While our team is preparing to do just a few short weeks of ministry to the children at camp, this is the life work of Philip and his wife Hannah. Brother Philip is involved with many aspects of ministering to vulnerable children in Ghana as a social worker. He not only works with the children from the community Arm of Hope is supporting, but also with children in need of a home who are brought to the ministry by the social welfare system of Accra, along with people with special needs and physical limitations.
Brother Philip is someone that I look up to in so many ways for his diligent perseverance in following the leading of God to be a missionary in his own country. He is always giving, supporting, discipling, and mentoring young people as he points them to the hope they can have in Christ. I aspire to be like him in his tireless pursuit of the call God has placed on his life to lift up and help children who are hurting.
When we are at camp, Brother Philip is constantly translating for us, running the games, coaching the soccer, and being our leader. He never stops!
It is a lot of work for the missionaries in Ghana when we hold the camp. They not only have to prepare the lodging and food for over 400 campers, they also have to continue the day to day work of the ministry and take care of us too!
Thank you for praying for Philip, Hannah, and the workers and missionaries of Handi-vangelism – that God will give them the strength, encouragement, and joy they need to continue to serve Him.
