Well…tomorrow is the day.
It started 6 months ago with applications. Then team meetings. Then camp planning. More team meetings followed by ticket purchasing, insurance, fundraisers, budgeting, shopping, and on and on and on…
Planning, planning, and more planning. The Bible says, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but the Lord directs His steps.” I love that. Make the plans. Make ’em good. Then let the Lord direct the steps to carry them out however He thinks best.
We leave tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. for a 3 1/2 hour drive to New York City, followed by 4 1/2 hours of checking in luggage and waiting to board, followed by an 11 hour direct flight across the Atlantic to Accra, Ghana.
When we arrive, our fellow team mate, Erika, will be waiting for us as well as our Ghanian partners, and many, many excited children. It is honestly hard to believe that the day is almost here.
If you would commit to praying, that would mean the world to us.
When I think about prayer, I think of all the typical ones like “safety” and “smooth traveling” and “luggage arriving” and “no sickness” and “family left behind”. Those are good ones. Go ahead and pray ’em.
But when I really think about what I want prayer for, it’s not really about who I am. It’s more about who I want to be like, and who I want to share.
So here’s my simple prayer request:
“Pray that we will be like Jesus
and that we will make Him known.”
So simple, yet so often hard to do.
It’s my goal. For me. For our team. For our camp.
Ghana camp 2016…ready or not, here we come!!!

Praying for each to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their own way according to the scriptures. Smile, be kind, and have the hope of Jesus Christ in your heart. Love to all.
